BOARD OF DIRECTORS

THE SINGING COLLECTIVE

The Singing Collective is an intergenerational community of singers, facilitators, and cultural leaders who sing, serve, and learn together. Members rehearse weekly, study with nationally recognized artists and culture bearers, and engage in service that strengthens connection and community wellbeing. Participants grow as facilitators and culture carriers, bringing these practices into classrooms, neighborhoods, and public spaces.

MISSION

Creating healthy, equitable communities through service, education, and singing.

We believe music can help create diverse, equitable, and healthy communities. Grounded in song, our work extends into education, service, and collective healing. We offer rigorous, culturally-rooted training that confronts systemic injustice, honors historical truths, and supports personal and communal transformation. We seek to minimize the performative aspect of singing; we emphasize music as an invitation to break down generational and systemic barriers keeping us from connection.

WAYS OF BEING

At Unity Project, our Ways of Being are the foundation of our community and the guiding principles behind everything we do. They shape how we build relationships, navigate differences, make decisions, and live out our mission. These shared commitments help us create a culture of belonging and ensure that we move through the world—and our work together—with integrity.
